Each year, usually during the first or second weekend in September, Florida NELA holds its annual conference, welcoming its members and potential new members to get together for continuing legal education presentations over a two day period. Past presenters have included representatives of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Florida Commission on Human Relations, federal and state court judges, arbitrators and mediators and prominent attorneys practicing in the area of Labor and Employment Law from Florida and throughout the country. During our annual conference, we also elect our officers, directors and board members and honor those who have served in those roles the previous year. Generally, our annual conference is held on the west coast of Florida, often times in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area, though we have also held wonderful annual conferences at other locations in Florida for the convenience and enjoyment of those attending.
For 2015, our annual conference will be held at the beautiful Vinoy Renasiannce Hotel & Golf Club in St. Petersburg, Florida. To learn more about this year's conference and to register : (Annual Conference).
In addition to our annual conference, Florida NELA holds a winter conference, usually in February. Like the annual conference, our winter conference offers an opportunity for members and potential new members to get together and to receive continuing legal education for attending presentations over a two day period. Presenters often include federal and state judges, representatives from employment agencies such as the EEOC and FCHR, mediators, arbitrators and well-respected labor and employment attorneys from Florida and throughout the country. Generally, our winter conference is held in central Florida, in the Orlando area, or on the east coast of Florida. Past conferences have been held in such varied locations as Disney World, Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach, Hutchinson Island and Fort Lauderdale.
